13 Sentinels heads to Switch April 2022
Atlus West and Sega have announced that 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will be coming to Switch in the west on April 12, 2021.
Developed by Vanillaware, 13 Sentinels mixes together adventure game story sections with real time strategy combat. The strategy segments often had trouble running on the PS4, so it remains to be seen how the game will perform on Switch — the reveal trailer only focuses on the adventure segments.
I reviewed the original PS4 release last year, coming away with mostly positive impressions — “While the RTS sections might drag things down a little, 13 Sentinels is still a fantastic story driven game that offers up a unique experience.”
Considering how Atlus has acted in the past regarding ports, it’s great to see more of its titles finally coming to other platforms. While it looks like the company is still not ready to go all in on porting its library (how is a mainline Persona game not on Switch yet?!), it’s still a good sign for future titles.
