8BitDo moves into the leverless space with their Arcade Controller line-up

8BitDo has announced a duo of upcoming releases, with both being full-button arcade controllers. The 8BitDo Arcade Controller is set to come to two variants, both offering a bevy of features.

Coming in Xbox and Standard (Switch) editions — both are compatible with PC — the Arcade Controller includes 16 buttons using Kailh Wizard low-profile mechanical switches. You can remap buttons and save multiple presets (up to for on the Standard variant), or even disable four of them via the included button lock caps.

Multiple connection options are offered as standard, including wired, 2.4G wireless via an included dongle, and Bluetooth on the Switch version. On the physical side, you get folding feet to adjust the angle of the controller, and a silicone mat on the underside to stop it from slipping while used flat.

Listings for both the Xbox (€99.99 / £84.99) and Standard (€89.99 / £74.99) 8BitDo Arcade Controller are available now on Amazon UK, with pre-orders set to open soon. In Europe, both variants are intended to release on 15 August 15 2025, with the North America release happening slightly earlier on 15 July.
