AI: The Somnium Files — Nirvana Initiative details new gameplay features

Spike Chunsoft has shared a new trailer for AI: The Somnium Files – Nirvana Initiative, showing off some of the new mechanics added to both the game’s investigation and somnium sections.

Investigations, where you listen to testimonies and gather evidence, have been enhanced with a number of additional systems. It’s now possible to re-enact previous events at crime scenes after collecting enough evidence, with “Wink Psync” giving Mizuki and Ryuki the ability to read people’s minds.

Somnium sections, where you dive into the dreamscapes of witnesses and suspects, retain their six minute time limit. Completing objectives allows you to delve further into their dreams, uncovering new clues. Certain decisions you make during somnium exploration will now also be timed, forcing you to think fast to proceed.
