AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative releasing June 2022

Spike Chunsoft has announced that AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative will launch in the west for PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC on June 24, 2022.

A new trailer has also been released, focusing on the sequel’s story and characters. nirvanA Initiative is described as having a focus on “two opposites”, which is reflected with the dual protagonists Mizuki and Ryuki.

AI: The Somnium Files protagonist Date will also make his return, with writer and director Kotaro Uchikoshi stating that he’s “a character who plays an important role”, despite not being playable (presumably) this time.

This trailer is the most information we’ve gotten since the game’s initial reveal last year, and it leaves us with even more questions than before. One thing’s for certain: if nirvanA Initiative is anything like the first game, then this is going to be another wild ride.
