Looks like Ryza will be taking a break next year, as Koei Tecmo has instead announced Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream.

Releasing February 25, 2022 for PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam, Atelier Sophie 2 takes the titular alchemist to the dream world Erde Wiege. Here Sophie runs into the alchemists Ramizel and Plachta, the latter sharing the same name as her now lost friend.

Sophie’s adventures through Erde Wiege will feature enhanced visuals over the previous entries, along with a reworked battle system using two teams of three characters. Battles also take place directly on the field, with no loading screens in-between.

Premium and Special Collection Box editions for Atelier Sophie 2 are now available for pre-order via the Koei Tecmo EU store. The Premium Box (priced at £79.99) includes a poster, art book, soundtrack CD, and early costume DLC, while the Special Collection Box (an eye-watering £160.00) also adds clear files, a paperweight, keychain, and a wall scroll.
