Atlus Reveals Glorious Retro-Styled Metroidvania With Jack Frost and Jack-o’-Lantern
In a cruel joke during their latest trailer for Deep Strange Journey Atlus unveiled an amazing looking retro-styled 2D platformer where you play as Jack Frost and Jack-o’-Lantern. The short trailer showed off numerous beautiful locations, iconic enemies and even a story to boot.
Unfortunately, this whole part of the video was followed by a disappointing “Just kidding!”.
Still, it’s more than a bit suspicious that Atlus has invested so much effort to create little more than a joke. We hope they will truly release the game they teased.
Until then we will have to make do with the real Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux which will come out on October 26 for the 3DS. Fans will have to wait until early 2018 for the western release.
I'm a huge fan of Japanese games and an aspiring game designer. I play literally every game genre. I also like retro games and miss the challenge that they once had. This is the reason why I love doujin games because they bring back that challenging aspect of retro games while innovating upon it.
