Ciel nosurge DX and Ar nosurge DX Japanese releases set for January 28, 2021

Koei Tecmo announced via Famitsu that the duo of remasters, Ciel nosurge DX and Ar nosurge DX, will be releasing in Japan on PS4, Switch, and PC early next year.

Ciel nosurge was a life sim game for the Vita (RIP) that initially had an always-online requirement, and a story split up into different episodes through DLC. The online requirement was eventually removed and a version with all DLC was made available.

Ar nosurge was instead closer to standard JRPGs, though it did try to spice things up with a unique battle system. Oddly enough, even though Ciel nosurge never released in English, both the PS3 and updated Vita releases of Ar nosurge were localised by Koei Tecmo.

With both remasters launching on Steam in Japan, it’s a promising sign for an English release later down the line. Koei Tecmo have yet to announce either game’s release outside Japan, though their Steam releases are usually aimed at the Western market.
