Compile Heart Teases Mysterious New RPG
Things open innocently enough as Youhei Sato a developer and Kazuki Maruyama a member of the marketing staff at Compile Heart play their latest game, a 8-bit retro title simply called End Quest.
They explore a little city and have random battles in the world map, until the screen and audio starts glitching revealing something much more sinister and leaving only the following word: DErQ. If you follow this URL you will find the yourself on the game’s official webpage with equally unnerving glitches once you close the video popup.
According to the video, the full unveil for this mysterious game will be on the 29th of June.
I'm a huge fan of Japanese games and an aspiring game designer. I play literally every game genre. I also like retro games and miss the challenge that they once had. This is the reason why I love doujin games because they bring back that challenging aspect of retro games while innovating upon it.
