Danbo Portable Charger 10,050 mAh Review (Accessory)

After looking for a portable charger for a long time, Mobile Fun provided me with an iconic Danbo portable charger and it works like a charm.

First things first – Danbo is a character from anime Yotsuba&! and you’ve likely seen the cute cardboard robot around! His design perfectly fits on the portable charger and he’s definitely a cutie, and he’s available in a variety of colours. Anyway, mobile phone batteries aren’t good these days. My old flipphone could go a week or so and still have most of its charge, whilst my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S2, admittedly pretty old at this point!) needs to charge about 2-3 times a day. I’ll upgrade eventually, but for now I wanted something that’ll recharge my battery when out and about (especially for days out at places like MCM London Comic Con and Hyper Japan) and the Danbo Power Bank Portable Charger (10,050 mAh version) comfortably did the trick. I chose the violet version (which doesn’t really matter, but I thought you’d like to know) and it holds up to four charges which you can access as easily as using the provided USB that plugs directly into your phone and begins charging.

I took it round my friend’s for a day (about 12 hours) and charged my phone twice from and one third of its battery each time, and when I went home it still had over half of its charge left – I’m more than happy with it. The production build is solid and not easy to mark or damage, and the inset design of Danbo himself is simple, subtle and adorable. It’s relatively small, and not as heavy as I’d expected, and would fit in my pocket had I chosen to keep it there but as a portable charger it’s, well, extremely portable and easy to carry around. The pouch it comes with goes a step further in preventing the charger from being damaged, and the product overall more than justifies the £39.99 asking price. The wire it comes with is short but is far from being a hindrance, but I’m sure you can buy a longer wire if you prefer.

The Danbo charger isn’t prone to wasting its charge away either due to the little button above the four lights (which indicate how many charges are left, which may vary between phones) which acts as an on button. Connect your phone, press the button and it’ll immediately start charging, and once you remove the cable then it turns off. It’s easy to use and nobody should struggle with it, and you can charge the Danbo itself with a suitable plug, or through your laptop or PC.

I may have focused on my mobile phone in this review, which I assume is the reason many would buy this excellent power bank, but it can be used on several USB powered devices for charging. With quick charging, a charming design and compatibility with a variety of devices, you can’t go wrong with buying one of the Danbo Power Banks and I’ll be relying on it a lot in the future when I’m travelling or out for the day. I highly recommend it, and you can buy one here.

Spread the love!
