Death Stranding surpasses 5 million units sold across PS4 and PC
Kojima Productions revealed today that Death Stranding has now sold over five million units between PS4 and PC.
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, head of publishing Jay Boor stated that the game “has performed quite well”, considering that it’s the “first title developed out of Kojima Productions”.
According to Boor, Kojima Productions has “relatively stayed the same in terms of actual size”, but it has adjusted how the studio is run “significantly” due to the ongoing pandemic.
The recently announced PS5 Director’s Cut for Death Stranding releases on September 24, 2021 — owners of the PS4 version physically and digitally can upgrade to PS5 for €10 / $10. This version has not been announced for PC, suggesting that it could be a timed exclusive like the original release on PS4.
