Disgaea series has reached 5 million worldwide sales
Disgaea has now sold over 5 million copies worldwide, and NIS America are following up this milestone with a “4,999,999 (+1) Sales Celebration“.
The celebrations were started by Nippon Ichi Software president Sohei Niikawa, who thanked players for keeping the series alive for nearly 20 years. He mentions that, while the original Disgaea was made with Japanese gamers in mind, it ended up being bought by western fans in equal measure.
On Steam, every PC entry is on sale. You can pick up all of them for just over £30 in total. The NISA Europe store will also have some new merchandise available from September 10, including clothing and a “Deluxe” artbook.
With the series’ continued success, maybe Disgaea 3 will end up being ported to PC and other modern platforms — it only ever released on the PS3 and Vita, having been skipped over when it comes to ports or remasters.
