Bandai Namco Entertainment have finally unveiled what will likely be the future of one of their currently most popular IPs with the announcement of the Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 2 DLC, with Jiren and Videl (yay) being the first revealed newcomers.
We’ve linked the official trailer of the announcement below; but Videl has already won points with me as she fights alongside the Great Saiyaman in her play style (seemingly similar to how Android 18). Jiren looks flashy and explosive in motion, with a focus on counter attacking in his moveset. Both characters will be available when the pass goes on sale on January 31 at a currently undisclosed price.
The trailer finishes with the reveal that the Dragon Ball FighterZ Season 2 will be only six slots instead of last season’s eight, also revealing that the final two additions will be Gogeta (SSGSS) and Broly (DBS), leaving the middle two a mystery for now. There is no concrete release date for Gogeta (SSGSS) or Broly (DBS), but the trailer says that they are “coming soon”.
I’m actually hoping that one of the last two remaining fighterZ is Master Roshi, with maybe Bulma thrown in. I know that she can’t fight herself, but if she were to be able to use Capsule Corp. devices in battle, she could be enough to get me back into the game properly (although I admit that Video is a strong pull).
