Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers Strategy Gameplay Details
Koei Tecmo have explained the new strategic gameplay style of Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers in more detail. It definitely changes things up! Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors games, Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers trades in the hack and slash for grid-based strategy!
Players move characters across the battlefield using a grid system, selecting the number of spaces to move and then setting offensive or defensive actions to be taken that turn. Positioning units so you can take the enemy from behind or from the side will allow you to deal extra damage. Defeating enemies successfully will enable Synchro Mode so you can unleash hugely powerful attacks to wipe out the enemy’s forces.
Lixia is a new character and her mystic powers can be used to turn the tide of battle! Throughout the story, players unlock and obtain a variety of Lixia’s Orbs with unique abilities, which can be used in battles to cause catastrophic elemental damage such as flames or floods.
Encounters on the front lines will unlock Path of Destiny episodes with unique battles, new companions, items and money to be gained. Outside of combat, players also have the ability to interact with other officers to learn more about the Three Kingdoms period.
Koei Tecmo have also announced some additional costumes players will receive if they buy the game in its first month of release. These include a Diaochan outfit for Lixia, and special costumes for Guan Yinping and Lu Lingqi with fox ears and tails.
Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers releases in Europe on 1st February 2017, and 31st January in North America, for both PS4 and PS Vita in. You can read our previous coverage here.
