Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree surpasses 5 million sales milestone
Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have revealed that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has surpassed 5 million sales, just over a week since the DLC’s launch.
This milestone would be impressive for a stand-alone release, but is incredibly uncommon for DLC. Even when looking at FromSoftware’s previous titles, Bloodborne reached only a slightly larger 7.5 million sales during a much longer time period.
The announcement comes shortly after a patch for Shadow of the Erdtree, which tweaks the DLC’s new “leveling” system (essentially collectables) to make it more powerful in the early game.
With shipments of the base game reaching 25 million as of June 12, 2024, it’s clear to see that Elden Ring’s momentum has not slowed down in the slightest.
