Ex Chibi-Robo! devs open Kickstarter campaign for spiritual successor koROBO

Japanese indie developer Tiny Wonder Studio has started a crowdfunding campaign for PC Chibi-Robo! spiritual successor koROBO.

The development team features a number of key developers from the now-defunct Skip Ltd. which originally worked on the main Chibi-Robo! games. It features a similar premise too, as you take control of a tiny robot and help a family while tidying up their house.

koROBO’s Kickstarter campaign runs until August 23, 2024 with a goal of 20 million yen (around £98k.) The only current stretch goal is console ports at 50 million yen. All goals take into account both the Kickstarter and Japanese Campfire crowdfunding campaigns.

A general roadmap for development is also available on the Kickstarter page. According to this, koROBO should release during Q2 2026 if there are no issues. Oddly, a Steam release is also listed for December 2025. This could potentially mean that it’ll be available via Steam Early access ahead of the full launch.
