Farming RPG Picontier out now in early access

Picontier, a farming RPG developed by Skipmore and Kan.Kikuchi, is available now via Steam Early Access.

The game has a very similar artstyle to another series developed by Skipmore, Fairune. Instead of being a short, linear experience though, Picontier is set to be more open-ended.

You’ll be able to farm, craft items, and take on various quests, as you discover more about the game’s mysterious island and its inhabitants.

Publisher Flyhigh Works have released a FAQ for Picontier, detailing how it will improve during its time in Early Access.

Picontier Early Access schedule via Flyhigh Works:

Early Access Launch:

Story up to Quest 6
Interaction with residents (up to a favorability / bond rating of 3)
Crafting – Cooking with ingredients
Fighting enemies
Raising livestock and farm work in the field

1st Update (next time):

New main quests
Increase potential for resident favorability / bond rating to 5
Add a new map
Add mining
Add a raft
Add a new animal to livestock
Add a house extension, etc

2nd Update:

Main quests and new maps added
Other new elements will be added

3rd Update:

Main quests and new maps added
Other new elements will be added

4th Update:

Official release

Picontier should be complete during Summer 2021 if everything stays on schedule, though we all know how Early Access games can go. It’s one to keep an eye on, along with the many other farming games that have popped up recently.
