Fate/Stay Night’s Saber joins Melty Blood: Type Lumina

Ahead of Melty Blood: Type Lumina‘s release tomorrow, Type-Moon has revealed that Saber from Fate/Stay Night will be the final addition to the game’s base roster.

It’s certainly an unexpected announcement, if only for the fact that Type Lumina seemed to be sticking closely to the Tsukihime remake’s story and cast. Taking a character from another Type-Moon VN kinda goes against this, though it’s not the weirdest choice for a crossover.

Saber, otherwise known as “The King of Knights” Artoria Pendragon, has somehow been summoned to the world of Tsukihime from her own universe. She fights using her sword Excalibur, capable of attacking quickly on both the ground and in the air.

Her inclusion brings the base roster to 13 characters (plus the maid twins as a separate playable “character”). English character bios can be viewed for the entire cast via the official Melty Blood: Type Lumina website.
