Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster delayed to 2022

Final Fantasy VI, the last of the series’ Pixel Remaster collection, will now launch for PC and mobile during February 2022.

In a statement from Square Enix, the company states that the delay is to “apply final polish while finishing development of the game.”

For those that pre-order Final Fantasy VI on Steam, individually or part of the Pixel Remster bundle, will now get some additional bonus items.

Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster pre-order bonuses:

Special Soundtracks

  • Locke’s Theme (Timelapse Remix) (New)
  • The Decisive Battle (Timelapse Remix)
  • Terra’s Theme (Timelapse Remix)
  • Searching for Friends (Timelapse Remix)
  • Aria di Mezzo Carattere (Instrumental) (New)

Special Wallpapers

  • FF6: 2 types of wallpapers
  • FF1-6: 2 types of pixel remastered series wallpapers (New)

The Pixel Remaster collection has been pretty solid for the most part, despite the horrible default font and lack of content from other re-releases. For a look at the first game, check out Rice Digital editor Pete’s ongoing playthrough.
