Final Fantasy XIV Mobile announced
Square Enix has revealed that it’s teaming up with PUBG Mobile dev Lightspeed Studios to create Final Fantasy XIV Mobile.
Final Fantasy XIV Mobile will be available on Android and iOS, and the adaption is set to release in Mainland China ahead of a global launch.
There isn’t much information on this version of the game, though FFXIV Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida does mention in the reveal trailer that Mobile aims to recreate most aspects of the main game.
It’s an interesting choice for a mobile adaption, especially after plans for a mobile Final Fantasy XI adaption seemingly fell through years ago. While this will likely remain as a separate entity to the actual Final Fantasy XIV, this could still allow a new playerbase to experience over a decade of content.
