Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.4 arrives early December

Square Enix have shown off some of the content that will be included in Final Fantasy XIV‘s Patch 5.4, Futures Rewritten.

The update, which is planned to release in early December, will see the start of a new story arc that should lead into XIV’s next expansion.

Futures Rewritten also brings the conclusion to the Eden series of raids, adding in four new 8-player encounters. Considering some of the enemies we’ve already fought in the previous raid tiers, it’ll be interesting to see what the team comes up with this time.

Another main highlight of this patch is a new trial tied to the Sorrow of Werlyt questline. This time, players can face off against another iconic Final Fantasy boss: Emerald Weapon.

Also included in this patch is a new dungeon, 24- and 48-player content, and a Blue Mage level cap increase. It should be a fairly hefty update, with no pesky delays to worry about this time. While more information is set to be released closer to the patch’s launch, a few screenshots can be found on the official Twitter account.

Before Futures Rewritten releases, Patch 5.35 for Final Fantasy XIV is set to go live tomorrow, October 13. This update is tied to Shadowbringers’ Resistance weapons, and should serve as a decent distraction while we wait for the next main patch in December.
