Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.1 set for mid-November, bringing first FFXI raid

Some details for Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.1 have been shared by Square Enix, going over content and changes that will be coming to the MMO soon.

Revealed during a Japanese livestream featuring FFXIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida, Patch 7.1 “Crossroads” is aiming for a mid-November release window.

This update will include the first part of the Final Fantasy XI-themed Echoes of Vana’diel raid series, named Jeuno: The First Walk.

Outside of the usual story patch content (including a new dungeon), there’s a lot of battle content coming over the 7.1 patch cycle. A extreme version of the 7.0 final boss is coming, along with an Unreal variant of Stormblood’s The Jade Stoa trial. Ultimate raiders also have Futures Rewritten to look forward to, an extra-difficult take on the Eden raid series.

One interesting new addition is the introduction of the Chaotic Alliance Raid The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic). This tasks 24 players with taking on a savage-tier encounter, which should definitely like up to the chaotic moniker.

More information is set to be revealed ahead of Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.1, including a release date and job changes.
