The final Monster Hunter World: Iceborne developer diary arrives this week

Capcom’s highly successful expansion to Monster Hunter World, Iceborne, will be receiving its final major update later this year. The contents of this update will be shown off during a developer diary August 28, fittingly titled “Developer Diary: The Final Stand”.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne Roadmap

While the announcement tweet doesn’t go into specifics, the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne roadmap does at least show some of the things we can expect from this last major update.

There’s going to be a returning monster, a couple of new events, and the addition of master rank layered armour. Since this is the final update, the monster being added should be something exciting — Gore Magala or Fatalis would be more than welcome, though it could be hard to give a story reason for their inclusion in World.

Iceborne managed to take an already excellent, modernised, Monster Hunter entry and give it the content and quality of life features it needed. Here’s hoping that Capcom end this expansion with a bang.
