Fire Emblem Direct – All the Info Here!

We’re watching the Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct live and you can watch it with us as we update this post as the show goes on! Maybe those Fates Switch rumours will be true, or maybe the Switch and 3DS will get a new title entirely. Fire Emblem Warriors gameplay, perhaps? It’s exciting stuff!

Nintendo has announced Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, a game inspired by Fire Emblem Gaiden, for 3DS. Like Gaiden, this has free-roaming and dungeon-crawling, although the battles are still turn-based and there will be classes. It uses the same engine as Fates and Awakening. It’ll release on the Nintendo 3DS store on May 17th, and two new Amiibo based on the main characters, Alm and Celica, will be available. You might also recognise the different artwork from somewhere because it’s from the lovely and talented Hidari, who also provides the artwork for the Toukiden and a couple of Atelier games.

A brand new Fire Emblem game is being developed solely for Switch which will release in 2018. There’s no information past it being an entirely new experience.

Fire Emblem: Warriors will be releasing this Winter and will be arriving to both Switch and 3DS. They showed off gameplay briefly and being an Omega Force game, it looks just as you’d expect! Omega Force have been on point with bringing their gameplay to other IP’s, and I doubt this will disappoint.

The Fire Emblem mobile game has finally been announced as Fire Emblem: Heroes which will bring characters together from all over the series, and features gameplay similar to the main games with square grids and chibi sprites. You’ll be able to summon heroes to have them join your team and each character has a different set of attributes that’ll be strong and weak to other characters — you’ll be able to enhance character’s attributes to make them stronger, too.

There will be new voice lines and the number of stars a character has indicates how powerful they are — one could say they’re stars! There’s no perma-death in Fire Emblem: Heroes which is probably for the best as I could just imagine the in-app purchases that could spawn! Especially with the timed missions you can undertake which will be far more difficult than normal battles, but you can gain a new hero! Fire Emblem: Heroes is available soon, although there’s no actual date yet but it is free (with in-app purchases!) You can pre-register now on Android and check out the website here, where you can also vote for characters to appear in the game with special outfits here.

Well, that ended a bit abruptly at only 18 minutes but there are some good takeaways here and the future of Fire Emblem is shining brighter than ever!

Spread the love!
