First Look at DanMachi Infinite Combate Screenshots
5pb announced earlier in the year that they were working on a dungeon crawler based on the popular anime Is It Wrong to Try Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (AKA, DanMachi). Now Famitsu have shared a first look at DanMachi Infinite Combate screenshots, showing us what to expect in the full game.
As you’d expect from a game based on DanMachi, it involves a lot of dungeon crawling. As well as that, there’s also some text events with anime-inspired CGs, as you’d expect from 5pb.
Bell Cranel and Aiz Wallenstein from the anime will both be in the game, and it looks like they’ll be teaming up with other friends to tackle these dungeons.
The anime itself is based on a popular light novel series of the same name, so you’d hope the exchanges between the characters in the game will capture the character interaction fans love about the series. The dungeons are more of a backdrop to the fun of watching these characters play off one another in the show.
5pb have worked on anime adaptations in the past, as well as visual novels, so they should understand the balance between storytelling and making a game true to an anime.
As well as working on games based on New Game! and Psycho-Pass, they’ve also worked on the acclaimed Science Adventure series, which includes Steins;Gate and Chaos;Child.
DanMachi Infinite Combate will be releasing on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita Spring 2018 in Japan. No news yet on a western release.
