Full Cast Fullmetal Alchemist Poster Revealed for Live Action Movie

We’ve had quite a bit of teasing for the Fullmetal Alchemist live action movie so far, but this is the first full cast Fullmetal Alchemist poster we’ve seen so far, giving a look at all the main cast together in one single image. The casting looks pretty good, and we’re holding out hope that the film will be good too!

The film opens on 1st December in Japan, and will be telling the entire Fullmetal Alchemist story in one film. That’s an approach that is somewhat unusual for live action films based on anime. That’s a lot to get in there. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is 64 episodes, so they’ll have to do a lot of trimming to get it down.

So far we don’t really know what will be different, other than that Ed will be 20 instead of 15. Not that it will change much, but it just makes sense with casting. Alphonse will, additionally, be done entirely in CG.

Obviously we’re pretty nervous about how this will turn out. Sometimes live action adaptations of manga and anime are terrible, sometimes they’re goofy and enjoyable, but rarely are they actually, legitimately good. Fullmetal Alchemist is one story that really could make the leap well if done properly, so we’re crossing our fingers.

Fullmetal Alchemist opens in Japan on 1st December 2017.

Spread the love!
