Gal Metal Trailer and More Info from Tokyo Game Show

Following on from a live-action teaser previously, the first proper Gal Metal trailer was released as part of a stage event at Tokyo Game Show! Not only do we see some of the game itself in the trailer, but Famitsu has lots of details from the event that give us more on how Gal Metal plays.

Gal Metal is an upcoming rhythm game for the Nintendo Switch with a metal sound and sci-fi theme, and it looks pretty cool! By shaking the Joy-Con in time to the music, you provide the drum part for KMG’s performances in between the adventure sections where the story develops.

Unlike in most other rhythm games, Gal Metal doesn’t provide you with a set of button prompts to follow, instead leaving you to choose the rhythm you want to play for yourself. However, to achieve a high score you’ll not only need to be accurate, but to mix up your drumming with a combination of rhythm patterns. Interesting stuff! Don’t worry if you’re not so keen on picking out parts for yourself, Practice Mode will show you a variety of rhythm patterns for you to get the hang of!

All the pieces of music in the game are classical arranged in a metal style, like the snippet of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony featured in the trailer. I’m very curious to know how many pieces will be in the game and which others will be used!
