Gal*Gun Returns Xbox One version cancelled

As an unfortunate end to the mess that has been 2020, the Xbox One version of Gal*Gun Returns has been cancelled.

The news was shared by developer Inti Creates on Christmas Day, where they went into a little more detail as to why the game would no longer be releasing on Microsoft’s console.

Full statement from Inti Creates regarding the cancellation:

From the statement, there are a couple of likely scenarios. One is that the game would have to be censored on Xbox consoles. Gal*Gun Returns ended up skipping PlayStation platforms due to Sony’s regulations on ‘sexual content’, so this wouldn’t be too far fetched.

However, a more likely scenario is that there were issues getting the game to run properly on Xbox One. With the game only a month away in Japan, it would be odd if censorship was suddenly a problem now.

Whatever the case may be, Gal*Gun Returns is still set to launch in the West on PC via Steam and Switch February 12, 2021.
