Nintendo announces game creation software Game Builder Garage

In a surprise announcement this morning, Nintendo revealed Game Builder Garage, software that allows you to make your own Switch games.

It’s essentially an expanded version of Toy-Con Garage, which came bundled with Nintendo’s Labo kits. The interface has been spruced up (though programming is still done using blocks), and there are lots more options in general.

The Game Builder Garage reveal trailer shows off some of the game’s new features, and the whole experience looks even more beginner friendly thanks to the included tutorials.

Thankfully, unlike Toy-Con Garage, it will also be possible to share your creations with others both locally and online.

Game Builder Garage launches on June 11, priced at £26.99. Physical versions have been announced for North America and Japan, but Europe seems to be digital-only right now.
