Genshin Impact 5.0 release date set for August, brings new region, anniversary event

Genshin Impact 5.0, officially titled “Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn” if you want something longer to say, now has a release date.

Launching August 28, 2024, Genshin Impact Version 5.0 will bring the sixth region Natlan to the game. This region is the Nation of Pyro, with its people divided into many tribes. Players will only be able to interact with 3 of the 6 tribes in 5.0, though this number will likely increase in later patches.

Players will be able to transform into different dragons known as Saurians, using their abilities to traverse the landscapes of Natlan. Eventually they’ll reach the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, meeting many of the region’s local warriors.

Genshin Impact 5.0 will also see the game’s fourth anniversary event. Players can get 1600 Primogems via the in-game mail, plus 10 Intertwined Fate from daily login rewards. There’s even a free 5-star character thrown in, though you can only choose from the standard banner.
