Genshin Impact Version 1.6 arrives June 9
Genshin Impact‘s next major update has been revealed. Version 1.6, “Midsummer Island Adventure”, will launch on June 9, 2021, taking players to Teyvat’s seas.
Most of the content added in 1.6 revolves around the titular Midsummer Island Adventure, as you help Klee and her friend Dodoco. The adventure is split into multiple parts, including new sailing mechanics via a boat called a Waverider.
As shown during the patch trailer, you’ll also be facing against the mechanical samurai Maguu Kenki. It can force players into close range battles, summoning elemental phantoms when its health is low.
As with most updates in Genshin Impact, Version 1.6 is adding in a brand new character. Kaedehara Kazuha makes use of his sword and Anemo element attacks to summon storms, buffing the damage of allies along the way.
Kazuha is the first playable character from Inazuma, a currently inaccessible city-state in Teyvat. The area is under development, and should be the next region added to the game in a future update.
