Genshin Impact’s first major expansion arrives July 21

Genshin Impact is about to get a new region, extra characters, and more in the upcoming update “The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia”.

The update will introduce a third major city, Inazuma, opening up new areas to explore across the sea. Inazuma is ruled by the Electro Archon, and features its own set of cultures and mysteries to discover.

Three of the characters introduced during the city’s story events will also be added as playable characters (obtained through gacha, naturally). 5-star characters Kamisato Ayaka and Yoimiya, and 4-star Sayu can all be seen in action during the update’s trailer.

The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia also brings with it cross-save functionality between the PlayStation and PC/mobile versions of Genshin Impact. PS4 and PS5 players will finally be able to use their accounts on other platforms, which should include the Switch whenever that version finally releases.

With Genshin’s world having seven major cities in total, who knows how long it’ll take before they’re all added to the game. At the very least, a new region offers a welcome break from the usual cycle of daily tasks and material grinding.
