GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon out now in early access

GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon, a roguelite follow up to a Japanese-exclusive title for the Famicom, is now available for £19.99 on Steam in early access.

The reveal of GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase last month was certainly a surprise, considering the original game’s lack of a worldwide release.

Undying Moon features some major changes compared to the first game, including striking new visuals based on Japanese ukiyo-e art, and a different style of progression. As mentioned earlier, it’s now a roguelite with randomised areas. There are permanent upgrades that can make future runs easier, but you’ll still have to start from the beginning on death.

GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon will be in early access “for up to a year”, with the Switch version slated for release in 2022. Presumably, it’ll launch on Switch the same day (or not long after) the full version is available on PC.
