Guilty Gear Xrd confirmed for North American release; will be available on PS3 and PS4

Publisher Aksys has confirmed that they’ll be bringing Guilty Gear Xrd to the West later this year for both PS3 and PS4. Sadly, there’s no word on a Europe release yet.

Aksys has stated that many of the series’ signature systems will remain, such as Roman Cancels, and that the gameplay has been tweaked and improved to allow for a smoother experience. Composer Daisuke Ishiwatari, who has also worked on many games in the series, will be returning and the  artwork, now in 3D – but retaining an amazing 2D look – is set to be greater than ever.

Boasting a roster of 15 unique playable characters, including new antagonist Ramletherl Valentine, the Guilty Gear 2: Overture sequel is set to impress once it releases.

Guilty Gear Xrd will be playable at E3, so expect many images and videos to be released in June. Hopefully, we can expect a demo later this year, although developer Arc System Works rarely releases downloadable demos for their fighting titles.

Spread the love!
