Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 Announced as a Thing
Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator is a gorgeous fighting game that we had a tremendous amount of fun playing last year from the masters at Arc System Works. Now, Arc System Works are introducing something called Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, with a date of “Spring” (for Japan at least).
The trailer from Arc System Works introduces two new characters to Guilty Gear Xrd — Answer — a “business ninja” — and Baiken — a “lone samurai”. These just appear to be the tip of the iceburg of the new content Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 will offer, though. Also, Arc System Works will begin location testing Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 as soon as January 20th for a few days.
The trailer introduces Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 as a “Guilty Gear Xrd Incoming Update”. It’s unclear exactly how close a relationship Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 will have with the original Revelator, in what form we can expect it to release on consoles, or even how long it may take for it to reach consoles versus arcade.
Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator was just so well made that it’s great to see Arc System Works continue to build on what they’ve already made. At this point there’s not a tonne of information on Rev 2 other than it’s coming, so it’s a very exciting time to think about what could be. Let us know what you’d like to see from it!
