Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R getting GGPO, public testing starts October 29

For all the delays and bad news this year has brought, there have been some welcome announcements here and there. One of these is the unexpected reveal of GGPO netcode for Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R on Steam.

The GGPO site gives a thorough explanation for how this type of netcode works, though all you really need to know is that online matches should be vastly improved across the board.

Arc System Works didn’t give an exact release date for the update, only stating that it is coming “soon”. However, public testing for GGPO in Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R starts on October 29, with more details planned to be revealed at a later date.

This actually isn’t the first classic fighting game to get updated netcode this year, with the PC, PS4, and even Vita releases of Garou: Mark of the Wolves all getting replaced with enhanced versions for better online play.
