.hack//G.U. Last Recode coming to Switch March 2022

Bandai Namco has announced that .hack//G.U. Last Recode will be making its way to Switch in the west on March 11, 2022.

Last Recode launched for PS4 and PC back in 2017, collecting all three games in one package, along with an entirely new chapter. It was also the first time that the .hack//G.U. series had been released in Europe, having skipped the region on PS2.

The games chronicle the adventures of Haseo, an edgy teen known by some as “The Terror of Death”. Set in the fictional MMORPG The World, Haseo tries to track down a mysterious figure that has been been killing people in-game, while also leaving them in a coma in the real world.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode is probably the definitive way to experience the series, though it does have some issues with difficulty and the unavoidable repetition found in the original releases.

Hopefully this release is a sign that Bandai Namco is interested in working on the franchise again, either for more ports, or a completely new entry.
