Him, the Smile & bloom heads west February 27, 2025

After its initial release window reveal, we now have a release date for flower shop otome visual novel Him, the Smile & bloom!

Set to release February 27, 2025 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, Him, the Smile & bloom explores four separate romances connected by a local flower shop. Ranging from young love to the struggles of maintaining a relationship, the choices you make lead to one of three endings for each couple.

Rather than having endings that would be considered “good” or “bad” (something common with visual novel routes), Him, the Smile & bloom offers a number of endings that should still offer something worthwhile to the player, even if it doesn’t lead to romance.

However, if you do complete a couple’s “glow” ending, then you’ll be able to experience an number of side stories following their life outside of each main story.

Him, the Smile & bloom overview via PQube:

Follow the stories of four separate couples, represented by different flowers, and each with a unique story to tell in a slice of life romance story.

Most otome games will focus on one protagonist, with a choice of love interests. ‘Him, the Smile & bloom’ instead lets you choose between four unique couples and focus on their own story. Pick between Wataru and Serina, Ginnosuke and Ami, Hokuto and Fuuka, or Tenya and Miku.

Each couple has three endings to explore. However, rather than traditional ‘good’ or ‘bad’ endings, each of the couple’s potential futures are poignant and offer something worthwhile to enjoy, regardless of the romantic (or not!) outcome.

With maturity and deep connections between the characters at it’s core, ‘Him, the Smile & bloom’ offers a refreshing take on the otome genre for players that want a little more substance and spice.

A fantastic visual style by esteemed illustrator Yat enhances the tenderness and emotion of each of the romances, letting the player feel like a part of the story themselves.
