Horizon’s Aloy joins Genshin Impact this October

In a surprise announcement today, miHoYo has revealed that Aloy from the Horizon series will be added to Genshin Impact later this year.

Wielding a bow and Cryo elemental abilities, this “Savior From Another World” should be a decent addition to anyone’s roster.

As an added bonus, you wont even have to deal with gacha to get Aloy. From the start of Version 2.1 on September 1, any player at Adventure Rank 20 on PS4 and PS5 will be able to obtain her for free. And from Version 2.2 on October 13, mobile and PC players will also be able to add Aloy to their roster if they meet the Adventure Rank requirement.

Genshin Impact’s gacha is pretty stingy, so a free 5-star character is welcome news. The Horizon crossover event will end once maintenance for Version 2.3 starts on November 24, so make sure to log in before it’s over. If you own a PS4 or PS5, but play Genshin Impact on another system, you can still quickly install the game on those platforms and link your account to get Aloy early — cross-platform progression was finally added for PlayStation platforms in a recent update.
