Hello it’s Aisha, I’m an events writer for Animepicks.com and host of the Anime UK show podcast on wearearcade.com. Every month on Rice Digital Aisha will giving us a round up of all the great anime & DVD’s to look out for and her personal gems – so save your money/gald/jewels till the end of this article.

It is the series that embodies everything an Otaku would like to achieve without criticism.

Sword Art Online, the anime which took you into the realms of the mmo video game and well left you there to fend for yourself. This is the anime that caught my interest for the similarities to RPG’s my favourite genre. The story is quite dark but you begin to warm up to the characters after a few episodes.  This series will be released in 4 parts on DVD and BD+DVD combo pack with the first part coming in December 2013, with a prediction of one part per month following this. The suggested retail prices are £19.99 for DVD and £29.99 for the combo pack. Don’t let the fan base scare you off, a really good anime with action and questionable decisions affecting your fate in game and in life.

The Tiger & Bunny Part 4 BD+DVD pack came out 26th August. If you like superheroes of the good and ridiculous kind this is a must, with blantant sponsorship plastered all over the place, you will be blown away with the humour and relationship of Tiger and his comrades.

These heroes solve cases and save lives so they can wear sponsor logos or acquire “hero points.” so they aren’t just acting on a tv show they defeat other random abnormalities in the world – in style !

The new series from Rooster Teeth, RWBY (pronounced Ruby), has been added to the Crunchyroll streaming lineup – every thursday. The show follows four very different girls (names related to colours) who are starting out at a school for training warriors and monster-hunters.

This months DVD releases: Hellsing – The Complete Series, Inu x Boku Secret Service – Complete Collection, Naruto Shippuden Movie 3 – The Will of Fire, Naruto Shippuden Movie Trilogy Collection

Daphne in the Brilliant Blue   – Complete Series Collection, Space Battleship Yamato (live action) released this week ! Daphne based on the manga by Satoshi Shiki titled “I – Daphne in the Brilliant Blue”. Set in the future,  due to the effects of global warming the Earth is almost covered in water. We follow orphan, Maia Mizuki, just graduated from middle school, ready to join elite Ocean Agency.

Lastly two movies from 2004: Lady Death fantasy genre movie and sci-fi RahXephon came out yesterday on DVD via 101 films.

Aisha’s Random Bet

This will be a show/dvd I’ve never heard of but would like to try for whatever reason, maybe the art’s cool or there are lots of cats in it. Sometimes a random bet can become an all time favourite.

I ‘m interested in watching Lady Death as it’s set in 15th century Sweden. Hope, the beautiful and innocent daughter of Matthias (a skilled mercenary who is in actuality a demon), is accused of being the devil’s consort. Hope is sentenced by the town priest to be burned at the stake. She soon becomes Lady Death, who challenges Lucifer for control of Hell itself. I do love a good demon anime.

No Stink bombs this month as everything is either great or continuations!
