House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn Rises From the Dead

Like my pun, readers? Thought of it myself. I prefer Sega’s idea to bring House of the Dead back from the dead (I’m on fire!) after a decade-long absence. House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn is the latest game in the series, and it’s heading to Japanese arcades this year.

You can check out the game’s official website here, where more than just your shambling undead are revealed. Chainsaw-wielding zombies, leech-like parasites and a Guyver-Ant-Man hybrid will be some of the other foes you’ll face off against. There’re civilians to save on top of staying alive, and it’s looking hectic – in a good way, of course, and you can partner up with a friend.

For those who are in Japan, you’ll be able to play this inside the most claustrophobic arcade cabinet to have graced arcades. Look at it! If someone pokes me whilst playing I’d be liable to cry.

There’s no word on a Western release yet, but it wouldn’t surprise anybody if this were to be ported to consoles and PC, especially with VR becoming increasingly more popular. Fingers crossed that we’ll see a few more on-rail shooters to join the likes of Gal*Gun in the West!

Spread the love!
