I*CHU: Chibi Edition brings microtransaction-free idol gaming to Nintendo Switch this October
PQube has announced that the rhythm otome visual novel I*CHU: Chibi Edition is set to launch in the west for Nintendo Switch on October 3, 2024.
I*CHU: Chibi Edition, which is now available for pre-order physically or via the eShop, sees you supporting 9 groups of idols as they aim to fulfil their dreams. You’ll learn more about each member, helping them to put on many successful shows.
This “Chibi Edition” is actually a remake of the original Japanese mobile I*CHU, now with all microtransactions removed. You’ll still pull for more versions of the boys via gacha, but this is now all done via in-game currency that’s easier to obtain.
Bringing the game to Nintendo Switch also means that you have the option to play through I*CHU: Chibi Edition’s song with touch controls, or with button prompts if you want to play docked.
The only caveat to this release is that while it does cover the main story and rhythm gameplay of the mobile title, romantic side stories are not included in the Chibi Edition.
