June PlayStation Plus lineup includes Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown
Sony has revealed the free games being offered as part of PlayStation Plus next month, and it includes two new releases.
Most importantly for fans of Japanese games (and classic fighting game franchises), Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown will be one of the games given away from June 1, 2021.
Ultimate Showdown had only just been announced earlier this week, bringing the game to PS4 with enhanced visuals via RGG Studio’s Dragon Engine.
Since PlayStation Plus is required to play most multiplayer games online (including Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown), having the game bundled in as part of the subscription ends up being a good deal for those wanting to play with friends — assuming its online netcode is up to the task anyway.
Unlike Star Wars: Squadrons and Operation: Tango (the other two games being given away in June) Ultimate Showdown is going to be available for more than a month — you’ll be able to claim it until August 2.
