Kingdom Hearts Union Cross Dark Road shutting down in May
Publisher Square Enix has announced that mobile spin-off RPG Kingdom Hearts Union Cross Dark Road will be ending service on May 30.
Prior to the game’s closure, its story is set be concluded this April. Dark Road, which was added to Union Cross less than a year ago, will still be available to play offline, while Union Cross’ story content is being added to a theatre mode.
Kingdom Hearts Union Cross Dark Road has had an odd journey over the years, being a reboot of the Japanese only Unchained χ, before adding in what was essentially another story with the inclusion of Dark Road.
Series director Tetsuya Nomura shared a message on Twitter about the game’s closure, stating that “The excitement and intensity of the remaining chapters is really going to ramp up”.
