Kojima Opens Kojima Productions
After essentially being a Konami prisoner, Kojima finally left Konami. Everyone was concerned about what his next course of action will be – will he be joining some renowned studio or making his own. But as it turns out he already established his new studio and called it surprise, surprise… Kojima Productions.
In an introductory video Kojima showed up with a beard and a broad smile on his face. He alongside Sony’s Andrew House announced that as of 15th December he is opening Kojima Productions and that this studio is going to be independent. But that they are also making a new franchise for Playstation. What this means is we will get an all new Playstation 4 console exclusive game from Kojima Productions.
In a new tweet he revealed that his contract with Konami has been finally terminated and that he is happy to continue making games.

Company’s logo has also been revealed with the explanation about its meaning from the Kojima-san himself.

The official site is already up and boasts an interesting motto – “From Sapiens to Ludens”. It can also in a way explain the company’s logo as it is a reference to Homo Ludens, “Playing Man” or “Man The Player”, a book written in 1938 by a Dutch historian Johan Huizinga. It discusses the importance of the play element of culture and society.
