Legend of Mana remaster announced, Saga Frontier Remastered coming April 15

Square Enix revealed during the recent Nintendo Direct that its PS1 RPG Legend of Mana will be getting a remastered release this year.

Launching June 24 on Switch, PS4, and PC via Steam, the remaster will feature widescreen upscaled backgrounds, with character sprites seemingly remaining untouched.

Despite being localised for its North American release, Legend of Mana never actually received a European release originally. It’ll be nice to finally experience this missing link in the Mana series.

Meanwhile, Saga Frontier Remastered — which had already been announced last year for PS4, Switch, PC via Steam, and mobile devices — also got a release date. It’ll arrive on April 15, a few months before Saga Frontier.

Square Enix really seem to embracing some of its lesser-known IPs, which is more than welcome for European gamers who missed out the first time around. Now all we need is a remaster (or even a remake) of the divisive Chrono Cross, another game that skipped out on Europe during the PS1 era.
