The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC Announced

Nintendo have announced some Breath of the Wild DLC coming later this year! The DLC will be divided into two parts, with the first coming in summer, and the second coming at the end of the year. Here’s a video with some more info:

There will be an Expansion Pass available for £17.99/€19.99 when the game launches, which will cover all the planned DLC, as well as having some immediately available bonuses. Three treasure chests will appear straight away in the Great Plateau area upon purchases of the Expansion Pass. One of the chests contains a Nintendo Switch logo shirt which Link can wear throughout the game, which is exclusive to the Expansion Pass. The other two will contain useful items, but it’s not specified what.

The first full DLC pack, due out in summer, contains a Cave of Trials challenge, as well as a hard mode and a feature for the in-game map. The second pack, due out towards the end of the year, will add extra challenges, a new dungeon and some kind of original new story. Strangely, these content packs cannot be purchased individually, so the Expansion Pass seems to be your only option, but it’s not a bad price! Both the Wii U and Switch versions of the Expansion Pass are identical.
