Love Kome Features Anthropomorphic Rice Schoolboys
Tochigi TV have announced their upcoming project Love Kome -We Love Rice-, an anime series about rice crops as schoolboys. It’s as weird as it sounds, but the art is very cute!
Love Kome follows five boys during their school’s Harvest Show. Each character is based on a different type of rice. Currently we have names and voices for two of the characters.

I continue to be surprised and impressed by Japan’s ability to turn absolutely anything into a cute anime character. There’s been more and more examples of this springing up in otome lately too. How about that game where all of the love interests are cocktails? I don’t think I could bring myself to romance someone called Salty Dog though…
Love Kome -We Love Rice- is scheduled for April 2017.
