The Marvel vs Capcom Infinite teaser trailer wasn’t enough for Capcom at PSX 2016. During the Capcom Cup they also dropped their Marvel vs Capcom Infinite gameplay trailer, which gives us a look at how the game will actually play.
The characters featured in the Marvel vs Capcom Infinite gameplay trailer don’t elaborate on the teaser trailer. It’s just showing how that teased match between Ryu and Mega Man X vs Iron Man and Captain Marvel would play out.
The Marvel vs Capcom Infinite gameplay trailer shows plenty of 2 v 2 fighting, with plenty of tag-ins and tag-outs, even within the same combo. It also shows special moves and special move team combos.
The big thing with this entry in the series will be the Infinity Stones. “Coincidentally” these are also a big thing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the moment. These seem to offer temporary power-ups to the fighters. The “Power Infinity Stone” looks like it will enhance attacks, while the “Time Infinity Stone” looks like it will boost manoeuvrability. Different players will likely favour different styles.
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite has also been confirmed to feature “single player Arcade, Training, and Mission modes, a visually stunning and immersive cinematic Story Mode”. The cinematic story mode will be a first for the series, and will hopefully be awesome.
