Melty Blood: Type Lumina announced, launching worldwide in 2021

2021 is shaping up to be a great year for fighting game fans. Skullgirls is still receiving DLC, Guilty Gear Strive actually has good online play, and now Melty Blood is making a return with Melty Blood: Type Lumina.

The official website for Melty Blood: Type Lumina has shared lots of new info, including release platforms. It’ll arrive on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch️, and Xbox One later this year worldwide — unfortunately skipping PC for now.

French Bread is also returning for this latest title, being the development team behind the original Melty Blood, along with the more recent Under Night In-Birth series.

There are a few screenshots available on the site, but not a whole lot of details regarding gameplay. A few characters have been revealed though, including Tsukihime protagonist Shiki Tohno, and the base roster will feature more than 10 characters in total.

It’s interesting to see Melty Blood: Type Lumina get an English release announcement so quickly, since the main franchise has never made its way to the West in any official capacity.
