Multiple Metal Gear, Contra and Castlevania games now available on GOG
After being leaked by the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee, many classic Konami games have now been re-released on PC via GOG.
Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, and the Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania & Contra have all been available for PC in the past, but were not supported by modern hardware and operating systems. These new releases should have far few issues and, like with all games on GOG, they’re DRM free.
While these versions may have a better chance at running on modern systems, they’re still nearly identical to their previous releases. For Metal Gear Solid 2 in particular, this means that there are more than a few issues to deal with. Thankfully, there’s a fan patch that fixes most of this, though it would have been nice to have an updated version of the game on PC instead.
